Our Processes
Electropolishing
The benefits include:
- Improved reflectivity—high luster on stainless steel
- Improved smoothness
- Improved cleanliness
- Total Passivation
- Oxide and tarnish removal
- Increased corrosion resistance
- Reduced buffing and grinding costs

Electropolishing is a specialized process and Jamarco Industries are experts in this field.
Passivation
The passivating of stainless steel is a post fabrication process with the end goal of making the surface more passive and corrosion resistant by restoring the surface to the original characteristics with protective oxide film. The passivation process returns the stainless steel or other metals back to its original specifications by removing unwanted debris and oils from the surface and then submerging the part into a passivating bath. When a part is machined, various particles can permeate the surface of the base metal, weakening it’s resistance to corrosion and making the part more susceptible to environmental factors. Debris, dirt and other particles and residue such as free iron, grease and machining oils all affect the strength of the natural surface and can become embedded in the surface during the machining process. These often go unseen to the human eye and are often the cause of the deterioration.
We choose an environmentally friendly approach to passivation, using citric acid as our passivating agent. Citric acid is much less hazardous than nitric acid and can be easily disposed of with no threat to the environment.
Parts Blasting
We offer glass bead and /or sand blasting of steel, aluminum, and stainless parts. Sandblasting is an effective cleaning process for hard surfaces with the use of high pressure air. The sandblasting method can be used for smoothing, shaping and cleaning hard surfaces, deburring, blending and stress relieving of any part that is hard. This process also removes slag, rust, and imperfections in steel as a preparation for various coatings. The effect of sandblasting is similar to that of using sandpaper, but provides a more even finish.
Vibratory Deburring
When mass deburring and finishing is preferred, Jamarco Industries offers vibratory deburring of steel and aluminum parts. This not only deburrs and eliminates sharp machined edges, but also gives your parts a matted finish. In this batch-type operation, specially shaped pellets of media and the workpieces are placed into the tub of a vibratory tumbler. The tub of the vibratory tumbler and all of its contents are then vibrated. The vibratory action causes the media to rub against the workpieces which yield the desired result.
